Abstract
The research which was conducted at EARTH University considered fertilizer alternatives and products for vigor for a pineapple crop. For the elaboration of the products, chitin and its derivatives were extracted from the exoskeleton of shrimp. The products evaluated were: shrimp exoskeleton (T1), chitosan (T2), and microbial metabolites (SINMAX Silver) (T3). The biomass, nutritional content, and vigor of the plants were determined. The biomass production results demonstrated that T2 has a statistically significant difference (p<0.05), compared to T1 and T3. The chlorophyll content presented a significant difference (p<0.05) in T1 and T2 compared to T3. The foliar analysis demonstrated that all treatments presented high levels of N, P, and K.
Key words: shrimp, pineapple, product, chitin, chitosan.
