Growth Curve and Nutrient Absorption of Oranges (variety Valencia) grafted onto the Rootstock Flying Dragon

Abstract

A growth curve and the respective nutrient absorption curve were developed for the variety Valencia (Citrus sinensis) grafted onto Flying Dragon rootstock (Poncirus trifoliata) in 1, 2, 3, and 5 years after transplantation. The plantations where the samples were collected has a density of 956 trees/ha. Within the phenological ages evaluated, the root showed the highest accumulation of dry matter (DM), followed by the branches, the leaves, the stem and finally, the fruit. The plantation 4 years after transplantation presented the following nutrient extractions: 528 kg/ha N, 25.8 kg/ha P, 176 kg/ha K, 466 kg/ha Ca, 60 kg/ha Mg, 11.7 kg/ha Fe, and 1.0 kg/ha Zn.
