Evaluation of the Efficiency of Three Agricultural Production Systems in the Humid Tropics

Abstract

An investigation was carried out at EARTH University campus to compare the production efficiency in three different production systems of maize (Zea mays), evaluating the plant conditions and fruit quality. The study was carried out with three treatments (organic, biodynamic and conventional), with four repetitions in a completely randomized block design. No statistically significant differences were found between the treatments (p>0.05) for quantitative descriptors of the plants and fruits evaluated. In regards to the production costs, the biodynamic treatment had higher costs.
