Development of Strategies for the Exportation of Certified Corn Seed (Zea mays L.) from Guatemala to Honduras


Corn is a basic grain that represents the largest acreage and the highest production volume in Honduras. This project presents strategies for Semillas Mejoradas Del Sur, S.A. (SEMSUR,S.A.) to enter the Honduran market. The preferred strategy suggests an alliance with Bayer Crop Science. The project also includes other strategies developed to take advantage of market and promotion opportunities. The main conclusion is that Honduras is an attractive market niche to sell certified corn seed and that SEMSUR,S.A. should work as a distributor for the entire country.
